Measurement Empowers Change: You can’t shift what you don’t see

When you understand your mindset, your impact, and your style - you unlock the power to lead more consciously and create real, lasting change.

At 3Sixty, we use the Human Synergistics Life Styles Inventory™ (LSI) to. help individuals explore their leadership mindset and behavioural impact. It

maps 12 thinking and behaviour styles into three clusters, Constructive, Passive/Defensive, and Aggressive/Defensive.

Together, they shine a light on the patterns that drive your decisions, interactions, and leadership style.

Constructive Cluster

These behaviours fuel high performance, healthy cultures, and sustainable success for individuals, teams, and organisations. They include:

🔵 Achievement: Goal-oriented and focused on excellence without the burnout

🔵 Self-Actualising: Authentic, creative, open-minded, and aligned with values

🔵 Affiliative: Builds strong relationships, shows care, and fosters collaboration

🔵 Humanistic-Encouraging: Supports others, listens actively, and helps people grow

Leaders who lean into these styles inspire trust and connection, encourage innovation and initiative, create psychologically safe environments, and empower others to thrive… not just survive.

Passive/Defensive Cluster

These styles often develop in environments where safety, clarity, or empowerment are lacking. While they may look polite or compliant on the surface, they can stall innovation, erode confidence, and lead to passive disengagement.

🟢 Approval: Constantly seeks to please others, avoids conflict, struggles to say no

🟢 Conventional: Plays it safe, resists change to stay within the “rules”

🟢 Dependent: Relies heavily on direction, avoids taking initiative or risks

🟢 Avoidance: Withdraws from challenges, delays decisions, fears failure or judgement

Aggressive/Defensive Cluster

While these behaviours may occasionally lead to results, they often come at the cost of psychological safety, engagement, and innovation. They are often driven by the need to protect self-worth, but when left unchecked, they can have a significant impact on team culture, trust, and performance.

🔴 Oppositional: Often challenges ideas for the sake of it, focuses on flaws, and resists change

🔴 Power: Dominates decision-making, avoids vulnerability, and struggles with delegation or trust

🔴 Competitive: Driven to win at all costs, compares self to others, often values being right over being collaborative

🔴 Perfectionistic: Sets unrealistic standards, micromanages, and creates self-induced (and team-induced) stress

By measuring thinking styles across three clusters - Constructive, Passive Defensive, and Aggressive Defensive, it provides the clarity and language to grow with purpose.

We don’t use tools like LSI to box people in.

We use them to open conversations, guide coaching, and spark real, sustainable growth.
